Reason you were banned: dont camp the stairs overlooking spawns
Your explanation of the appeal: (see below)
So I guess HorseHead thought I was camping at the top of the stairs shooting new spawns. That's one of the areas I "work at", but I don't shoot the new spawns. Ummm... could it be he assumed since I was up there that I was killing them? I never shoot the spawns by the car if I see them spawn there, but you know how it goes... people sit behind the car... so.... how does one know if they just arrived or are (legally) camping at the car? If I shot someone who immediately rushed to the car, or was running out of the spawn area... twas not an intentional spawn kill (if it even was one).
Hey, what's the rule there? How long do you have to let someone run away from the spawn area before they're fair game? I mean, if they're shooting at you, is that sufficient? Or if you surprise them, how far away do they need to get, or how many seconds do you leave a spawn alone for?
Anyway, I think the Horse guy made a false assumption, and was hoping y'all would remove the ban. I haven't been banned for a LONG time, because I've been very hyper sensitive to purposely not shooting someone if there's even a chance they're a spawn. I thought there was nothing wrong with how I shot people in that area since I ignored a new spawn for a good 5 seconds. Anyway. That's it. Rule seems a little fuzzy in this area of the map, clarification would be appreciated!

Assuming you are talking about backlot, there are two spawns that you overlook when on the stairs. It doesn't matter how long you wait to shoot them, it's still spawn trapping. They cannot leave the spawn while you are staring at it. I suggest that you change up your play style to avoid further punishment. Instead of "working at" areas, move around the map so you avoid spawn trapping entirely.

As commando has pointed out you are trapping spawn exits by camping up the stairs, wether you give them time to leave a spawn point is irrelevant. Trapping the only exit of a spawn is against the rules. Spawn killing is allowed, spawn camping is not. You do not have to give a player any amount of time to leave a spawn, if they spawn and you kill them instantly that is allowed but the moment you stay there to get the next person spawning that would be classed as spawn camping if directly staring at the spawn point or spawn trapping if covering the exit and getting more than one kill from that spawn point. My advice would be to move around the map more and if you decide to camp somewhere to make sure you are not trapping any spawn exits. The admin that banned you will reply in due time to advise you wether or not your ban will be lifted. It is only a temp ban and will expire by next Monday if he decides not to lift it.

Hey Hammerhands - I was the one who banned you. To remind you what you were doing the map had a small number of players and you were going up to the top of the steps and scanning for players then going to the bottom just for a pause and then back up....and over and over. As you are aware spawn camping and trolling spawns is against the rules on our server - this is 1 of only 9 rules we have on the server and its to make game play as fair as it can be. Its bad enough when players choose not to follow the rules on a busy server - but its extremely poor form when the numbers are lower. You've been to the server 1342 times and we certainly appreciate that, however like everyone else (admins and guests alike) everyone has to play by the same rules.
I initially banned you for 4 hours but then noticed that your ban count was sitting on 7. I increased the ban to get you here so we could reiterate the rules which are:
In-game Rules
- No racism of any kind
- Use of any cheats will see you permanently banned
- Please be respectful
- No recruiting for your clan, your server, or anything else
- No advertising or spamming of websites or servers
- Please refrain from excessive cursing
- The use of Martydom or Last Stand is NOT allowed
- Do not bind your 'fire' key to the scroll wheel
- Camping is allowed, spawn camping/trolling is not (claying,nading,tubing and rpg's on spawn are not allowed)
- Glitching, except for elevators, is allowed as long as the following is true:
- You can be seen
- You can be killed
I'm going to unban you, but I hope you take this as an opportunity to think about how you play on the server and look to change your way with regards to spawns.
You are welcome to play on the server again.
