Title: Riddle Me This
Post by: Demigod on November 21, 2015, 11:39:46 pm
All right here we go...

I have an Alienware Aurora R4. It has two 2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 7870 video cards. While playing COD the computer crashed and didn't come back. Turns out one of the video cards has died. Even on one video I can run three monitors without issue. While trouble shooting this I also upgraded from Win7 to Win10.

Everything works great except for COD, which crashes every time I play. Should I uninstall it and install it again? Think that will fix my problem?

this should help

Once you've followed the instructions of the video, If it still does not work:
1.Find your COD4 directory, and find the file iw3mp.exe
2.Right click and make a shortcut on the desktop.
3.(Optional) Rename the icon to COD4 Multiplayer
4.Start the game by right clicking, and selecting 'Run as administrator'

As it turns out... I had to move the entire PC back to it's original location in my office, which is no easy task.... Just figuring out the wiring, etc, with all of the monitors and what not is a huge deal.

Just fired it up and noticed all of the video settings had changed, which makes sense. Not only am I using different monitors, but also new driver graphics.

Fired COD up right now and son of a bitch it worked... Had to adjust the video, but it worked. So I am back.

Glad to see you got it working :D  Any ideas of which new fancy vid cards you may be upgrading to or are you leaving it as is for now?
