To all Clan members who may be concerned.
I've played with my name "FUTT BUCKER" for years on
your server. I've recently been told my name will result in a
ban if not changed. I was told it's been deemed offensive.
Has there been a tightening in policy as to what types of
names are allowed? If so, how stringent is your new policy?
What do you do when only some admin find a name ban worthy
and other admin don't? I realize this is a privately run server with
rules that are independent of free speech laws, etc. And that's great.
However out of all my years playing, if anything, most people get a laugh out of it.
Unfortunately, it seems as though it is being tossed into a category of
words or expressions that the general public would deem unquestionably offensive.
If someone used the player name "OSAMA BL", I'm sure a lot of people would find
it offensive and for obvious reason but is it ban worthy? It is literally a common first name. And BL could stand for anything!
Some people still find the word and act of farting offensive, so what? do you prevent people from using the word
"fart" in thier name? Obviously you don't. Is "FUTT BUCKER" a juvenile, play on words
meant to be funny? YES. Is it meant to rattle people, get under their skin and ultimately offend
them? NO. If it's so bad and so offensive, shouldn't it be disallowed as a username on this forum?
Some clarification would be appreciated. Thank you.

As with most things in life game names are open to interpretation.
I know that some Aussie day-to-day terms would offend Americans very much yet be amusing to a Kiwi or visa versa.
It is all in the interpretation…..but where do you draw the line? When I am on the server, I tend to ignore all but the obvious. If another player makes noise of a name being offensive the next step is to determine whether they are being a troll or genuine. Not so easy to do. We all try our best to be fair and Bulldog hasn’t done the wrong thing – he has done what he thought best at the time.
We haven’t changed our stance on how we run the servers, and we will always look to provide a fair and decent place to play for all without prejudice. Sometimes it may seem a little strict but it is amazing how quickly things get out of hand with the wrong combination of people on the server at the same time.
You will not be banned for the name FUTT BUCKER.
