Hey guys
My AV expired and I didn't realise so had picked up some nasty bugs (I think from downloading non-dodgy content). Anyways I have updated AV and cleared the nasty stuff and installed Malwarebytes and run multiple scans using both. Whilst I hoped and expected that it would resolve my issues I have random internet tabs opening with shit offers and no doubt dodgy links.
I don't have any addons or extensions in Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Tonight I will uninstall Chrome and reinstall it to see if that resolves my Chrome issues. Does anyone know of any good ways to clean up MS Edge? I have reset it but its still happening.
Any other ideas on what I might do to find the shitmonster that is causing me grief?
Thanks in advance. And no....it wasn't pron...I think I got duped by a new release which I then ran and that got me.

yup happened to me following a link to download a youtube recording app. however nothing more than adware and did the same as you and all working fine now. so hopefully having AV up to date and reinstalling chrome should work. I use Mcfee

The AV picked up a few things and Malwarebytes picked up some, then Adaware picked up another virus.
I think Ill have to look into whether MS Edge is getting the correct .exe file and then look at the registry as well. The issue I am having is random popups (which are now being blocked by malwarebytes) but also I cannot use functions on websites I have accessed. To open links I have to right click them and I cannot type in free text fields. Rather annoying.
