Title: Muted for Djanus
Post by: Masartus on February 12, 2024, 02:59:50 pm
Hi, from Germany.

I just came back. From Skiing and i was not online for about one week.

I was online today, for one hour until i got muted.

Echelon i discovered, and it says i am muted for toxicity. Admin, who muted me, is named unnamedplayer....

What happened: The Player Djanus was in game.  And i said "Hi, Dj anus."  It is, this name is too funny, for me. I made fun of this  name, yes.
After it, Djanus called me an idiot several times.

When i now enter the server, i get a warning which says: I have to stop toxicity, next time i will get a permaban.

I have many times experienced, during a session of playing, that admins made fun of my gamename. Like Masfartus f.e., get called a girl/Lady bye Admins and players. I never complained about these things. Isaw this as fun.

The last time i got muted. I made fun with Moo, about british teeth. Which i also not really got, that this is such an hard insult. It was just ment as a joke.
I did not knew, that this "british teeth" thing is such an insult. The line between joke and insult is sometimes thin, because of different country viewings.

I just wrote Dj anus. and the mute before was the thing, with the british teeth.

I play for years on this server.  Give my best to follow the rules of playing fair.
The chat is sometimes going very funny. Even Admins take part in this fun often.

So, please explain to me.

Why i am near a permaban.   Who muted me?

I just wrote Dj anus and the players name is Djanus.

Please.

Thank you for answering
Masartus

Hey Masartus -

Our side has been contacted by individuals privately via Discord regarding you. In particular as what they have described as an environment which is made toxic towards them by you - so much to the point they expressed they no longer wish to play here in anymore, specifically because of you. One player changes his alias for the sole purpose of not wanting to put up with your harassment.

You also need to know that this was not a one-time mention by them about you, but this has now reached us not just once, or just twice.  Within the past 12-24 hours, after having received another mention of what you consider to be harmless banter finally pushed the Admins here to take an action of which would get your attention, as you either lack self-awareness, or are unwilling to stop or unable to stop.

Understand, the admins familiar with you have come to understand that you enjoy pushing buttons on other players and your reputation is not the best when it comes to that.  You certainly enjoy trying to with me, yet I do not penalize you for it, nor have I ever.  However, when other regulars become casualties of your personality, then action has to be taken.

In your long tenure of being here, Echelon shows that you have amassed the following:

86 Warnings
22 Kicks
6  Mutes
3  Bans

In the future, after you mute is expired - leave people alone. Don't harass them about their names, don't make fun of people's teeth (yes there are more British on the server than just the 1 guy who is okay with it), don't insult people period, even if you are convinced the other party is fine with, because you never know if others are just waiting to become the next target of your attention.

Furthermore, if admins see that others are making fun of you (or if you inform them), regardless if you are OK with it, they too will be dealt with - as we don't want to become a server that is known for that kind of thing.

Thanks

Ok. I will overthink my attitude. And change my behaviour. So that other players dont will feel attacked by my words. First i learned the rules of play in this server. Now i learn the rules of chat. Not easy, But i try.

peace
