Okay mates, instead of installing a chat box (compatibility issues), i was able to install a forum messenger. There should be a bar on the bottom of your page when your viewing the forum, on the left side of the bar you will see who's online on the forum at the time and you can send then a msg through a chat program (an IM). It has a few other features that i could care less about on the bottom right too
