Post by: Apoc on November 26, 2012, 11:42:00 pm
this is a short video i have been doing on and off over the last few days. let me know what you think.

its has 720 HD or 1080 HD for the best quality...but you can watch in normal quality 2. oooo and VIP watch the end of the video and you will see {FH}Pear doing a little dance for all the Boyz

post your thoughts and if you would like to see any effect in a vid let me know.
cheers

Editing is cool, at first I was like wtf hitech hax. Only suggestion is to cut out a lot of the useless standing around. That got me bored.

LOL yeah {FH}zypher, it was more of a test to get the lockon etc etc figured correct and to make the colors better. when i get to doing a full vid it will be cut and edited to only show the kills :)

How do you get such amazing quality?

I use demos + Fraps + Windows movie maker :(
Could use some tips, since I have some exciting content, but shitty quality and no editing...

take 2 long to explain.

Demo Player
Fraps
Sony Vegas Pro or Corel video studio. ( edit movie to what you like ) render movie in 1080p or 720p or what ever you like blu ray HD etc etc. if your output files are 2 big i use Ashampoo movie shrink and burn to reduce the size of the video, eg a 500mb move can be reduced down to say 100mb with no quality loss .

i also have 3ds max which i would use if i wanted to totally re-do a map , put your name on walls change textures add clan logo to the top of a building etc etc, and i have cinema 4d studio R12 to make intros and stuff. but you wont need 3ds max or Cinema 4d to make cool vids.

youtube is your best bet mate

type something like
sony vegas cod4 tutorial

or corel tutorials for cod4
there are lots on there.

Awesome, thanks a lot.
I had Sony when I was on Ps3, but I never got any good at editing and shot sync.

If would guys want, I could put up my project (considering most of it is on FH anyways).

@ Apoc (or anyone really):

Thanks for the tips and the reference videos to start with.
I've tested things out and I like the results I get with Dxtory + Sony Vegas, but now the issue is that my clips renders as
a black screen with no audio. I've tried .avi .wmv .wav .mp4 .avc, they all return a blank video with the same lenght.

Any ideas? I've google a bit, but it returns forums with no answers... did you encounter this problem?

right click a clip and go down to switches and clicked disable resample. this may help.
or Downloaded the K-Lite codec pack
also what version of sony vegas ru using?

this seems to be a problem when you slow down or speed up footage ( with older versions of Sony vegas ).

Yes, google was pointing in the same-ish direction. Haven't tried downloading a codec since it was able to open avi videos. Btw, it also lets me open the black screen video, in vegas, and then see the content after rendering, but vlc and wmplayer can't see anything.

Vegas 12, no slow downs or speed up, I had already disable re-sampling since I am using a sniper, so yeah...  :/

I also failed at telling you how awesome your effects are, till now.
Great job on those and thank you for the pointers.

EDIT:
So it is solved. It seemed to be two very different things. One about the "active" application and the other about me not having quicktime. So thanks anyways and hopefully I will be posting something soon :)

And if your interested, Apoc, I could send you the clean clips so you can take a real swing at it :p

Making the clip was harder than I thought it would be. A lot more work than rushing to complete anything.
I was going for a  sniper feel, but all the clips averaged out at about 20secs.

I may have more material for you to toy with, when you get back.
Though it would be nice to know what you think up to date?
