Title: Spawn camping and killing
Post by: {FH}Striker on February 01, 2014, 10:48:14 pm
I play on your server all the time, majority of the players  are good and fair.
Never a problem with your members,They are always very helpful if you ask.

I am one of five ,four leaders and myself with ADMIN on our two AEK servers.
Our clan is one of the oldest,it's been around since the first COD came out 8 to 10 years.
Here is the deal, spawn camping and killing seems to be a real problem on your ffa server.
I see or read a few warnings with very little effective followup by Admin.
I suggest a more rigid inforcement of your existing rules.
It appears to me some players are not taking you seriously.
Don,t be afraid  to kick these Turds of your server.
You start kicking these problem players and sooner or later they will get the message.
Most will come back I will assure you.
That is the best policy.
You have a great looking forum and thank you for allowing me to express my thoughts and to play on your server.
If I didn't care I would not have wasted my time.
THANK YOU,

I think the majority of the people who get warned/kicked for spawncamping are from other countries who might not speak english and they just generally camp in the game. Having watched some of these players, they are not so good at moving around and are actually pretty easy to kill.

Other than those players - I do admit I see people spawn camping and if I notice it is happening a lot more than the norm, I go to spec and proceed with warning then possibly taking action. The maps are so small with quite a number of people playing so spawn killing is going to happen, especially with camping being allowed in the server. So, sometimes it can be a tough call on whether the person is trying to spawn camp or not. The maps were made for 8 people in FFA.

That being said - I also notice some people accuse and I have even seen members warn someone for 'spawn camping' without even spectating the player. If you think someone is spawn camping - go to spectate and record the player. If you turn in demos of people deliberately spawn camping - we can take action. If the recorded person has had warnings/kicks prior to the demo.. we can make sure the punishment fits the crime and give them a longer break from the server to help them learn a lesson.

One more tip: Be ready to shoot when you spawn :P  :shooting:

I agree with both  of the above posts.

Like Kit said, the maps were not designed to accommodate the amount of traffic our servers receive, so no matter what, there will inevitably be some spawn killing/camping. We advise all of our admins to politely ask the offending player(s) to stop spawn camping. After having been given a polite verbal warning, if the player has not stopped their transgressions, our admins are then instructed to warn that player with the b3 bot. If the guest does not stop spawn camping, we ask that the admin warn them a second time and then a kick if the guest doesn't listen at all.

Now, we keep a tally on the amount of warnings all of our guests receive and if their number gets too high, we start taking harsher action. We start off with short temp bans and it goes up the line to a permanent ban. We also ask that our guests point out any rule breakers while in server, sometimes when you're playing you get caught up in the game and you don't always see everything, so please feel free to ask any admin in game to watch a player if you feel they are breaking the rules. You can also always record a demo and post it here and we will then take action from there.

We greatly appreciate your feedback and I hope you understand that we are doing our very best to make our servers a fun, clean place for our guests to play.
