As we all know, ping is a major win factor in all CoD multiplayer games. As such, I have devised the following strategy to allow optimum speed and performance for all players.
1. Live in the USA for {FH} servers.
Enjoy, and revel in the new-found knowledge I have provided for you.

This is not a foolproof plan , it hasn't helped me yet :thud

This is not straight forward, as to achieve the best ping really depends on both your hardware and connection. But this layout will normally help out with MOST hardware/connection configurations. I can personally assist anyone with helping them trying to find the 'sweet spot'.
These settings may need adjustment based on your current configuration. I run dual overclocked 8800GT 512MB graphics cards. But the graphics card is not the only way to improve your lower ping.
Other methods include:
Getting a faster processor. I run a 3.4ghz quad AMD Phenom II 965 overclocked to 4.6ghz, with aftermarket cooling.
Getting a faster upload/download connection or moving closer to the ISP provider.
Optimize your config file that are directly related to communication rates.
In reference to the latter, these are my current config file settings that correlate to communication rates. I found them to be the best for my system/network connection. But as I said earlier, it will vary.
/rate 25000
/cl_maxpackets 100
/com_maxfps 125
/cl_packetdup 1
/snaps 20
Using these settings I went from 120-130 ping down to high 70s to low 80s. This is with max settings.

To bad , nothing seems to helps for my ping that is always above 100 and I can't have any fun amymore. i dont know why but since a while now I lag alot. Some servers I can get 40ping. Change my router, remove the router, tried my friends modem, r?installed Windows on second hard drive, did some tweeks found on the internet. No luck. Just finished a half unplayable round on the FFA.
Maybe I will try the TDM and see if I get the same .

I have you at 84ms over 14 hops. The servers you get a 40ms ping on are likely hosted in NYC, based on your location. I get ~25ms when I connect to servers in that region, vs. ~100 for our servers which are hosted in LA.
What was your ping before you started lagging?
Like it was stated, the values posted in this thread don't hold true for everyone. Playing around with the settings is the only way to find out what utilizes your connection, best. 'cg_drawlagometer 1' will be helpful.

I am around 110 these days, used to have 80. Still can play, but sometimes it is a slow lag. (like if I was always aiming a Maja)
I did activate that cg_ command, dont see much. I will work on it. :strong:
