Title: Jumping to avoid fire
Post by: Nlaketahoe on December 29, 2012, 10:20:39 pm
Can one of you please explain to me why you do not allow jumping to avoid fire, I think it is real to avoid getting killed. You can run, crouch, kneel, but not jump?

Thank you,

Thank you for your input.

Without putting too strong an influence on the Jumping to Avoid Fire/Death rule,
It is simply a preference of the majority of members and has been debated at length.
While I'm in favour of the rule, it is treated with some leniency.
My personal reasons for supporting the rule is that jumping is more of a 'Pro' manoeuvre and we do try to (IMO) cater for all levels of players. It can't be denied that only those more experienced/proficient players use it and many have it mapped to a multi-button mouse.

Your comment that it is 'real' does not really apply to a GAME and I've never seen any instance in any documentary or war footage of a combat soldier hopping around a corner to avoid getting killed.

Please feel free to post any comments you feel will enhance the gaming experience for you and we will be happy to reply to all reasonable questions.
