Since this has been moved I thought I'd throw my two cents in on the current communication tools we're running.
Skype and Teamspeak are good for what they do, and I think mostly everyone are used to these programs since they've been around as the standard for a while. Discord, however, is amazing.
For anyone not familiar, it handles both voice chat and text chat. It allows you to assign permissions and roles to anyone who joins, so you can limit who can join certain voice and text channels. For example, you could have a member/admin chat channel that is hidden entirely from the rest of the users, and have a general chat for basically everyone to use. You can even do video and screenshare calls. You can also add bots that respond to certain commands or users. Not only that, but it's completely free to use.
In my opinion it'd be worth it to migrate to Discord completely - it's essentially the new standard for communication for communities. Heck, I even have a Discord server that only has 3 people in it - and one of them is literally never on, haha!
Just my thoughts
