Once You have the software installed on your computer. Open the program, cod4 and then type /record and then /stoprecord into the console when starting and finishing your recordings.
Everything we have talked about above has been related to Windows. But, some of us use Macs, so here you go. Recording is the same, once in-game:Open up console using the ` key (tilde).Type the command "/record". Type "/stoprecord" when you feel the demo is done. Now to obtain the demo for upload. Your demo's location depends on whether or not you installed via the install disc (Retail Version) or the App Store version. [Retail Version] /Applications/Call of Duty 4/Call of Duty 4 Data/main/demos/ [Mac App Store Version] /Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Call of Duty 4/main/demos/If you are using the App Store Version with OSX 10.7/10.8, then the file path is hidden. Press CMD+Shift+G to bring up a search window in Finder and type in '~/library' to access your /Users/USERNAME/Library/ directory. You can this progress to /Application Support/Call of Duty 4/main/demos/.Now in order for a Mac user to play back the demos, you must make new directories in this location: [Retail Version] /Applications/Call of Duty 4/Call of Duty 4 Data/Mods/ModWarfare/demos/ [Mac App Store Version] /Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Call of Duty 4/Mods/ModWarfare/demos/Then copy the demo into that folder. After that, you can open the game, go to mods, and load Modwarfare. Bring up console, type "/demo <demoname>" .
Also an alternative for mac users and if you have QuickTime Player:Go to File/New Screen Recording, and it will record all or if you wish part of whatever is happening on your screen.I find it handy also for work.Nightcap
