Hi guys,

So I feel really stupid... Since I started playing CoD4 a long time ago I always found it fun to mess around with my config and try out different settings and keybinds or check out configs from others via cfgfactory etc. This to either improve fps, ping and general gameplay of combine key combinations. And just for general fun and amusement and also because I am not a very techy person but like how others are and learn a bit. For me it was always half the fun of playing.

But since I started playing again a few weeks ago it seemed that settings I changed in my config file in my normal steam folder didn't take. This annoyed me greatly. I could however enter them via console but had to do it manually over and over again. I tried deleting my config and starting new profiles. But when I deleted my config my settings would stay the same (like wtf?) and when starting a new profile they wouldn't show up in mij profiles folder.

I even deleted the game and still it didn't work  After that I even reset my pc to an earlier date and again nothing 

Sooooooooo yesterday I was googling a bit and found the problem! I have cod4x like most people now because of that my profiles AND config files are stored somewhere else entirely!!  Why didn't I get that memo?! lol.. So it is now under C:\Users\YourName\AppData\local\CallofDuty4MW\profiles for anyone as dumb and noob as me who didn't know this  But the files are probably hidden so you have to make them visible yourself.

That's my rant for the day and maybe it helps someone else
