Right, so there was a discussion amongst players/admins about a potentially offensive name in server last night (cuntsucker).  I said I'd make a thread and see if this was an acceptable/unacceptable name.  Let the discussion begin.  Also, to Rob or Pear or anyone else higher than me, if I'm beating a dead horse here (I know there's been posts on this subject in the past) feel free to lock the thread.

Love playing in your servers.  My preference is no swearing, and no offensive names, always has been.  But then again, it's not my server.  Seeing players with names like cuntsucker and bitchess I believe is very distasteful, not good for younger players to see, and offensive to women.  Was very disappointed when bringing these names to the attention of the only admin in the server....Rumblefish, and asking whether or not they should get warnings to change their names....just to hear that he didn't find the names offensive and wasn't going to kick for them.  I decided to take a break, as I was getting too upset, and another player in the server also was commenting that he was getting ready to rage quit over the offensive names.

Thanks for all the game....and tolerating me all of this time.

You are a great guest/regular on our server.  Thanks for stopping in to share your thoughts.  It is tough to please everyone all the time.  This is an issue we have and continue to discuss.  Sometimes it's tough to draw a line that seems not too strict (like some other servers) but also not anything goes.  What is offensive to one person may not be that offensive to others.  We clearly will not allow anything racist and the big bad obvious ones.  Some of these "creative" names are debatable.  Thanks for your patience and understanding.

it's not my style, but not my game either. If a player wants to call himself dog shit then who am I to tell him to change their name. Just my opinion, unless it's racism then I don't care if they call themselves dog dick for a name. I'd just call them dick for short! This is exactly one of the reasons I left, the names that are allowed are disgusting, I don't care what generation or age you are. This started when Kitty came into the clan and when I questioned it she told me this is a term of endearment when you like or love someone, LMAO In real life if someone called my wife a cunt or a bitch they would be in the hospital. On the server it is unacceptable, even the {8th} doesn't allow it. If this is allowed just to fill the server its pathetic. Gunny will be banned now, lol.

FH tries to be most unlike the 8th as possible. This did not start when I came into the clan, because I was in it before you. The decision was not made by me - but the heads of the clan to allow the word and other words. The server may have younger kids on it - but they hear worse in school. If you don't want to face reality that is fine. I don't appreciate being blamed for something you are on a crusade for. I don't make the rules. The situation you are speaking of was a joke with a friend of mine and he doesn't even play anymore.

Another point - you have to be 17 to purchase this game

ANOTHER POINT - we want to be a relaxed clan and you want to kick someone for having cunt in their name if they are doing absolutely nothing wrong to the server.. what is the point? How it is offending you? Are you looking at the screen constantly 'omg he has the word cunt in his name' ... my apologies but grow up if that offends you. He is not calling anyone any name directly and if he did he would be kicked. This is gaming and it is about fun - we are not here to be nazis - LIKE THE 8th. If you want FH to be like the 8th - my suggestion : GO JOIN THE 8TH

Another point to be made that is ironic... this is coming from a member named GUNNY that was DEMOTED for talking shit to guests on the server.

I also don't leave a clan I am dedicated to because of a few things I disagree with. I am mature enough to stay and know I cannot change those things and just relax and deal with it. Well said and 8th can die for all I care. Worse clan of retards on the net imo. Clearly there's some animosity here clearly and each individual has their own taste.

To answer the original poster on this thread , Rumblefish, general rule of thumb is that if the bot doesn't warn them for their name or language , then we let it go, they ofcourse can not be insulting or homophobic\racists. If you are in server and you find something offensive, you can ofcourse ask the guest to change his name but if he's not breaking any rules then there is no need to warn him. (That's for FFA)


As for the rest of the drama from above , I have no intentions of getting into an argument with former members , you decided you didn't like the direction of the clan and you left, that's that.

If you had issues with anything , you could've easily started a clan vote or brought it up on the forums as an admin, any clan member is allowed to do this. The former members who just left did not do this and as guests you no longer have any say in FH policy. You wanted us to be stricter on the guests but disagreed with us being "strict" with our own admins (hardly ever used 3 strike policy) , I'm sorry that you feel that way, I think it's best that we all just move on.


I will say this, if there are any more issues or fights I will just remove all access to whoever causes it.

There's also no need for FH to be compared to other clans or servers.
