Just now I was accused of putting a clay on a spawn on the Strike map - and an admin backed it up.

Here is the Strike map, and I've marked the spawn in question.

I put a clay in the room of the building, up against the wall ACROSS from the door. You would have to walk four or five steps out of the spawn, turn left, and walk FULLY into the room to trigger the clay. You wouldn't trigger the clay by walking out of the spawn. You could have walked straight, or you could have turned into the room and stopped when you saw it. The player in question ran out of the spawn and ran into the room triggering the clay - the clay wasn't triggered when he left the spawn.

I can think of a lot of places where we place clays in rooms near spawns, mostly on Crossfire.

Demigod,

You are correct, that would not be a spawn clay.  I was in server and caught parts of the conversation.  I think you left right before the admin that was "backing" accuser said, if you can't pass by the doorway without triggering it, it would be a spawn clay.  So since you had it on the other side and not in the doorway, there is a clear exit from spawn without triggering it.

Thanks for clarifying.

I think admin was trying to clarify the rule.  We have several guests that complain about spawn clays or spawn camping and our admins will never take action (issue warnings) without seeing it themselves.

Thanks for taking the time to post.

I'm tend to log in for one game or perhaps two only, but then click out. I play when I should be working.

I didn't think it was considered a clay in the spawn.

Just to clear things up, it was me. And yes as I spawned and ran straight, NOT INTO THE ROOM, again... NOT INTO THE ROOM. And got claymored. So I  was just trying to let him know what was going on with that spawn clay and NOT to do it so problems didn't happen. Yet he argued and argued that it didn't happen..... You guys know me and I only call people out when something  happens. I don't make stuff up just to cause problems. No hard feelers , shit happens and I was just trying to let you know Demi.

Also I'm pretty sure I've been told not to clay there because of the spawn, just an FYI. (cause I love my clays too.) Or do it more inside the room with out the clay facing out the door.

Sounds like an honest mistake.  Perhaps the clay there that you set against that wall was still close enough to trigger in a run past.  Might be good to sample that sometime with me or some other admin to see how far back it has to be without triggering when running straight.  Thanks Smokem and Demi... both great regulars!

Cheers.

Hey I think I was the admin involved :)  Yeah if they can get out of the spawn (straight) without triggering it then its fine, but if they walk by the door and it goes off it is blocking the spawn and is a bad claymore position :)
