I will make a post here, as if I do this in BG, I will be banned.  It is a good feeling to rant out so I thought it would be good to rant here.



The members of the Battle Group Clan like to call themselves the best, or very welcoming and friendly, but right from the get go, based on first hand experience, I can already tell you how much of a sham this is. Over the course of the year as I played in their servers, I can't help but notice how much lowkey hostility vibes I get from them, considering I've been banned twice, because I was either winning or hacking, kicked thrice, because I wanted to have a conversation and get to know them more, and was nearly banned another time, just a few hours ago.

Today, I tried engaging in simple conversation with them, asking them about their sensitivities in game, then asking them about hanging out in our discord server, which I should know by now is something they get really rustled over by. I meant no disrespect, and I wasn't bragging or spamming to them, simply speaking in a friendly, respectful manner. I told them how they should come stop by sometime to say hello, and talk with me via voice lobby, and how I would have preferred to use their teamspeak server only I couldn't because I don't have a microphone in the PC and I instead could use my phone for discord, as it has a mic, and the app is free, heck even the server itself is free. Teamspeak on the other hand requires a fee for the mobile app. Talking about all this simply made them call me a nuisance.

As more time was spent it became increasingly clear at how much hostility every single member had for me. All of that did not make me feel welcome at all, and what for? Simply because I extended a friendly invitation to get to know my clan, and chat up? If  you're wondering why I didn't post it on their own forums, well, simply put it that they don't reply to any of the posts I make, I see my posts in BG have had over 50+ views for various things and yet not once has it gotten any reply, so why not instead use a golden opportunity while a lot of them are online at that very moment, to let them know about my invitation?

The very fact that they hardly reply to my posts is in my opinion, truly insulting. I try my best to get to know other clans and have them mingle with mine, and I see absolutely nothing wrong with it considering how respectfully aware I am with how I try to conduct myself at all times.

I know there's pretty much no chance any of them are going to have an attitude change as they're proud, and stubborn. I don't mean this as an insult but a mere fact, Another underlying problem I have noticed in their clan is that they seem to have such a trigger finger to use kicks and bans and warns. I was kicked today for that conversation I had and when I came back they were still talking about it, saying things like 'beat me to it lol' and a whole bunch of other obviously hostile charged replies.

You can see how they asked you very nicely to join their server, and you guys made replies. I can tell you if I made this sort of post in their website, they would be even more hostile and have me warned off, banned, or both, or not reply to it at all, which would be extremely hypocritical don't you think? Actually, let me go try that  and I will let you guys know what happens.

I feel the Battle Group Clan is far far from what they pretend to be, and I find this sad.

Hi Thomas!  Good to hear from you.   

A couple of responses.

One, BG clan does operate differently that FH and many other clans.  They aren't big on chit chat on the server and they are very protective about mentioning other servers (advertizing -- even if that wasn't your intent).

Two, you can't paint all BG members with the same brush.  Many that are actively posting on our forum and visiting on our server are much more relational and open to others outside their clan. 

Three, we've worked hard to have a respectful stance when it comes to our interaction between BG and FH.  It hasn't been perfect and there have been some difficult situations.  At the present time, we have accepted our differences and some members from FH play occasionally at BG and several BG members play at FH.  We'd like to maintain that kind of mutual respect.

FH is NOT about putting our members first and all others as secondary.  We host a server that is about welcoming guests and being a fun, friendly server where admins serve the greater community.  Not all clans have the same mindset and people are free to run their server as they wish.

You are always welcome at FH!

Pretty much this.
Several of our admin team have standing PERMA bans at BG, while the banning admins are more than welcome to play on our server.

We figure its better being the bigger man, and let them dig their own grave. They can only act like this for so long until their server stops having significant user traffic.

You know what happened? They banned my account from their website, this just proves my point with their being hypocrites.

With reference to Thomas Bakers post or 'Obi Wan' as we know him, yes, he has been banned twice on our servers for hacking, but both times he was subsequently unbanned when video evidence was examined. You are right Joch, we do not like blatant advertising and spamming, which is exactly what Obi Wan did, on our servers and on our forum. There were a number of other issues that led me to enforce a permanent ban this time, including the fact he undermined one of our regular players and criticised his play saying it was not up to his 'pro mod' status, the player left.

Reading his post and and seeing what little respect he has for our Clan makes me wonder why he is so passionate about it, and why he goes to the extent of writing such long dialogues.

The simple fact is, we will always reserve the right to ban nuisances that we don't want on our servers. As FH members know, they are always welcome to play on our servers, as they do, only the nuisances like Godlike are banned!

Just want to point out Ivor, that if I or any other non-BG member posted comments that were derogatory toward one of your members on the BG forum, you would delete the post and/or ban the user from the forum. In our case, we allow you to post (even when we disagree) and your post will remain as well as your ability to have posting access to our forum in the future.

That being said, I have Godlike's back on this one. He is not only a great player but a great admin and an all-around good guy.

Right. So on what grounds does being a "nuisance" call for a permanent ban? I assume Godlike was banned for his outstanding skills in-game. Poor judgement in my opinion.

Godlike was banned while live streaming his game play.  I viewed it myself.  The only way he was a nuisance was by being a better player than anyone in the server including the administrators that were sitting in spectate.

But....It escapes me why you and other players continue to subject your selves.... if feel you are being treated unfairly
on these other servers.

Each server has it's own set of rules and policies they want to establish and you and I and who ever plays on those
servers must respect... or we are free to move on.

If you honestly feel this server or clan need some help, join that clan, get involved, work hard with the leaders and admin to try and improve it. It's the members and the test of time that determine who has a great clan and server.

If you Thomas... are not prepared to commit to that, then stop all this wheel spinning, this crusade you seem to be on,
pick up your marbles and go play where you feel you are welcome.

There are only a handful of west coast COD4 servers left, this game released in 2007!
There is |FH| Clan, Netjam Cyber cafe, Hades Gaming, and |BG|.

I dont know about you, but i like to shake it up every once in a while. If you have only 3 options, and one of them decides to take a personal vendetta and keep you from playing, they just reduced your options by about 30%.

I watched till the 2nd kick, you broke 2 BG rules
1) is glitching BUT you stoped once they told you it was not allowed
2) as always you were too good ... thats certainly the most important
Unfortunatly be good as you are is often a ban reason ... sad but its like that. I can give you at least 1 clan server where you will be ban very fast :(
I have been in a clan like that in the past we (me included ... my bad) banned exellent players to keep "calm on the server" because good players as you or Awdy empty the server ... again it is sad
Dont think I put oil on fire guys ... I only say what I see since 2010.
I m very desapointed when I see a players banned because he is too good :'(

I dont think our forum is the best place to talk about another clan ... they banned you, they kicked you from their forum ... thats frustrating, I m in same situation with my old clan
I forget it and turned the page ... there are enough others servers where you can play

I think that has already been happening.  They changed a number of rules to make it more appealing to a wide range of players (rules similar to our server), but really even more important than the rules themselves, is how they treat guests and the way in which they admin the server.  Again, you can't paint all BG members with the same brush.  There are several members at BG that are just great people; fair and friendly.  But there are several that have been in the top ranks that were in those same roles going back to the days of the 8th (when they were even worse) that just don't get it, aren't willing to listen to others that try to help them understand the problem, and are unwilling to change.  There will be natural consequences and I think unfortunately that is already playing out.  Given the relative small community of this old game, I really don't wish any ill will on BG, but it is out of our control.  The issues are theirs to figure out.  I think we can all be thankful that we have FH to call home and that we have a wonderful community that consists of many regulars that find FH welcoming and enjoyable.  I love that at any time of day or night, I can hop on the server and enjoy the game with people from around the globe.

I wish the best to BG.  I welcome BG members to our servers as guests.  I hope our members (those of us that are not perm banned) who wish to visit BG will continue to be welcomed.
