This past week I discovered Call Of Duty Warzone.... Oh. My. God.
Last week I downloaded Call Of Duty Warzone. It's free, but the free version is limited. After the training you can play two modes - Battle Royale and Plunder. In both cases the map used was
Battle Royale is on a massive (MASSIVE) map called Verdans where you have a small team and you have to hunt down other enemy teams. Eventually the map gets smaller and smaller because gas surrounds you, and the key is to stay alive. Last team standing at the end wins. If you die, however, you are sent to the gulag where you duel another player and if you win you get back into the game and if you lose you die die and that's that.
Plunder is similar, same map, but you have tasks to complete - mostly finding money or completing "contracts".
The map was huge and I rarely found myself in the same place twice. However, you don't get aquire rank and keep weapons but isntead at the start of every game you quickly scavenge and easily find weapons and other gear. The graphics were fantastic....
The free version was fun enough to play and I was exploring it when... This weekend COD opened up the entire game "for free" for everyone. This opened up the multiplayer version and a handful of maps to play and... I haven't gotten much sleep since. Twenty-four hours later I bought the full version ($59?) and it just got much better... I can now play all of the maps, all of the multiplayer versions....
The maps are fantastic. I mean, just fantastic. Some of the old maps are there but much, much better, and lost of new maps. I've seen Crash, Rust, and Shipment... And also Hardhat which is a very old map.
The weapons are fantastic too, and the game play is great as well. They have thermal scopes that are just amazing. I am still ranking up so I am looking forward to finding out what else they have.
There is one odd thing.... This version of COD is for ALL platforms, and most of the players are XBOX players. You can see who is on what platform when the game starts and it's not often I see a PC person. There is no ingame texting (damn, no binds) but some people do speak with headsets.
I've been playing COD Modern Warfare pretty much since it first came out... But this version is awesome.
