I've been dealing with a bit of a conundrum with gameplay on my new iMac at home vs. the one I use at the office. The old one is a 2013 iMac. Gameplay feels smooth. Occasionally when I launch and play COD, it for some reason runs in a higher detail mode but the action is really laggy. So I'll quit and relaunch maybe 1-3 times until it snaps into the lower detail mode but actions is snappy. So if you see me log in and quit a few times in a row, that's why. I can live with that glitch.
The thing that's bothering me with my shiny new one with faster everything (processor/graphics/bus, etc) is that no matter what I do, I can seem to make it "feel" like my other machine as far as play action. The screen motion makes me dizzy and the response doesn't feel snappy like my other machine. I've tried making the settings 1:1 with the older Mac as far as graphics and texture, etc, but it's still off. I'm assuming the architecture of the newer iMac is not interpreting the settings the same way. I've tried dropping game graphics resolution, cranking detail way down, or way up, mouse sensitivity, etc. Anyone out there have any suggestions? On both Macs I have the same Kensington Expert Mouse trackball. I updated the driver on my home machine over the weekend and that did help somewhat with the Look action. But the motion in game still makes me feel dizzy when playing.
Thanks,
Greg
